Abstract of the presentation:
As electrification continues to accelerate across mobility, industrial and energy storage sectors, battery safety is becoming a key enabler for technology adoption, regulatory compliance and market acceptance. Among all safety-related challenges, thermal runaway remains the most critical phenomenon, requiring a holistic approach that spans through all the development process: Design, validation, certification and risk mitigation.
This presentation will showcase how BEOND is a part of an integrated ecosystem that addresses thermal runaway throughout the entire battery development lifecycle. By combining engineering expertise, advanced testing capabilities, simulation-driven methodologies and certification know-how, the partnership enables manufacturers to better understand battery failure mechanisms, improve system resilience and accelerate the deployment of safer products.
The session will highlight the value of a multi-scale approach, from cell to full battery pack and vehicle validation, demonstrating how the integration of physical testing and virtual engineering can support safer battery architectures, more effective mitigation strategies and a faster path to compliance with increasingly demanding global regulations.
Through this vision, BEOND thanks to its know-how aims to support the industry in transforming thermal runaway from a critical safety concern into a manageable engineering challenge, enabling the next generation of reliable and sustainable electrified systems.
